A few weeks ago, I got to paint with the super talented Filipino artists Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan on a collaborative piece they exhibited at their show here in Brisbane. It was great to hang out, see their studio, catch up on what they were up to and find out about the exciting projects they’ve done or were working on at the time.

As a Filipino myself, and having moved here in Australia at the age of 16, I can fully relate to the beautiful work that they do. Their ideas of migration, belonging, dislocation and family in their work gives me this feeling of sentimental longing for the past, where I come from.

Where They Create
I could sit here all day looking at peoples’ work places.

Creative spaces at where they create.
